It will also examine whether the framework continues to meet users’ information needs while appropriately balancing the benefits of high-quality reporting with the associated costs for preparers and other stakeholders.
We are currently exploring a range of options. Stakeholder views and perspectives are central to the review. We expect to send out the Discussion Paper in May 2027, but we’re keen to hear from interested stakeholders now.
We want to hear from anyone who uses, prepares, audits and relies on financial reports to better understand what is working well, where challenges exist, and what improvements may be needed.
This early input will help us understand practical issues, identify information gaps and test our thinking to ensure the Discussion Paper is focused on the issues that matter most to stakeholders. Any proposed changes would be subject to public consultation and, where required, Ministerial approval.
Additional information and future updates will be published on the Accounting Standards Framework Review page on our website.
