Social media terms of use and use of AI statement

How we use our social media channel

We use LinkedIn as our primary social media channel: https://www.linkedin.com/company/external-reporting-board

We provide our followers with regular updates, including:

  • our latest news
  • information about who we are and what we do
  • opportunities to provide feedback and other engagement activities.

We also post event and guidance videos to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@externalreportingboard-XRB

We may follow or like accounts held by other organisations and individuals if they’re relevant to our organisation. We may also choose to repost or mention information created by other organisations and individuals if we think our followers will find it useful. However, this does not imply endorsement, or guarantee the accuracy of their information.

Posts made by others to our social media channels are the responsibility of that person, or the organisation they represent. They don't necessarily reflect the opinions or policy of the XRB.

When you engage with us on our social media channels, you are considered to have agreed to the conditions of use of the particular social media channel and our individual page or account.

Monitoring

Our social media accounts are monitored during our business hours, which are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm. We don’t monitor social media outside of these times.

We welcome feedback and comments from our followers and try to engage in conversation with them where possible. We aim to respond to feedback on our social media channels as soon as possible during business hours, though we can’t guarantee we’ll be able to respond to everyone individually. However, we will review replies or comments made to us, and pass any emerging themes or helpful suggestions to the relevant people in the XRB.

Use of AI

At the XRB, staff use approved AI tools to support practical tasks such as drafting and editing written material, proofing text for clarity and consistency, summarising documents and meeting notes, refining plain language explanations of technical material and improving the structure and readability of documents. AI is also used to help analyse large volumes of information, support research and horizon scanning.

In all cases, AI is used as a support tool only, with all outputs reviewed and validated by staff, using their professional judgement.

Our established governance and due processes apply to the production and publication of XRB standards.
