Communications and Engagement Manager
The External Reporting Board (XRB) is an independent Crown entity responsible for preparing and issuing financial reporting, auditing and assurance, and climate standards for New Zealand.
Our purpose is to promote trust and confidence, transparency and accountability through high-quality external reporting and assurance. We do this by establishing and maintaining robust frameworks that are internationally credible and relevant to New Zealand.
About the role
This role is Wellington based. It is a senior role that does not manage staff but does work closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team. You will:
- Lead the communications and engagement strategy
- Provide trusted advice to senior leaders
- Shape communications for priority projects and initiatives
- Support Ministerial, Parliamentary and select committee engagement
- Develop high-quality briefings, speeches and stakeholder materials
- Strengthen organisation-wide capability to communicate complex work clearly
- Manage channels, media enquiries, and stakeholder engagement
About you
You will bring:
- Significant senior communications experience (public sector or regulatory preferred)
- Strong strategic and delivery capability
- Ability to translate complex technical content into plain language
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience supporting government accountability processes
