Principal Advisor Sustainability Reporting
The External Reporting Board (XRB) is an independent Crown entity responsible for preparing and issuing financial reporting, auditing and assurance, and climate standards for New Zealand.
Our purpose is to promote trust and confidence, transparency and accountability through high-quality external reporting and assurance. We do this by establishing and maintaining robust frameworks that are internationally credible and relevant to New Zealand.
About the role
This is a Wellington-based, senior role within the Sustainability Reporting team, working across the XRB and with domestic and international stakeholders. You will:
- Support climate-related disclosures work, including standard setting and implementation
- Provide high-quality technical advice on sustainability, integrated, and performance reporting
- Engage with domestic and international stakeholders, including standard setters and regulators
- Contribute to Board papers and governance processes
- Undertake research and provide insightful advice on complex sustainability issues
- Support work programme delivery across the Sustainability Reporting team
About you
You will bring:
- Strong experience in climate and/or sustainability reporting
- Experience in a regulatory, advisory, preparer, legal or policy context
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively across complex issues and competing priorities
