Director – Accounting Standards

Michelle leads the team responsible for supporting the New Zealand Accounting Standards Board in developing and issuing accounting standards for New Zealand. Her role focuses on ensuring high‑quality standards that are fit for purpose and aligned with international best practice.

Michelle is the technical advisor to the New Zealand member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board, the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum that advises the International Accounting Standards Board, and the working group leader of business groups and assets for Asian‑Oceanian Standard‑Setters Group.

Michelle brings vast experience in audit and financial reporting, with practical experience across several sectors including energy, not‑for‑profit, and Māori business. Her work has a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and facilitating constructive dialogue across a broad stakeholder spectrum.

Michelle is a Chartered Accountant.
