Wendy Venter

Wendy provides strategic leadership and oversees the delivery of the XRB’s statutory responsibilities across accounting, auditing and assurance, and sustainability reporting. She brings extensive executive leadership experience across governance, risk management, assurance, and public sector accountability.

Before joining the XRB, Wendy worked as an independent consultant and director and served as a member of the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board. Her experience includes senior roles as a partner at EY, Deputy Chief Executive at the Ministry of Social Development, and Assistant Auditor-General. She is focused on maintaining confidence in New Zealand’s external reporting system and supporting high‑quality, internationally aligned and locally relevant standards

Wendy is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a member of the Institute of Directors.
